1. How do I start a user account?
You will need to
Create an Account. This includes choosing a username and password and providing an email address that is not being used by another person on our database. Physicians will need to use their medical license number, and practice administrators will need to use their Pennsylvania Medical Society account number. (To get your account number, please email
stat@pamedsoc.org or call (800) 228-7823.)
If you’re a member, logging in gives you access to a wider range of useful information and tools such as Tracker and online CME testing. We also recommend that you fill out a simple
Member Profile (see No. 6 below) to ensure that your records in our database are correct. You can choose whether that information will be displayed in our Member Directory and on our popular Find-A-Physician referral program.
2. Does the Pennsylvania Medical Society have any advice on choosing a good username and password?
Usernames should be at least four alphanumeric characters and cannot contain symbols or punctuation. Usernames and passwords are case sensitive.
For your own security, please create a unique username and password for this website.
Unique usernames and passwords help prevent identity theft that could be used on websites with more sensitive data (such as websites for banks, investment firms, and health care information). Please do not share it with others or use it for other purposes.
3. I forgot my username or password. What do I do?
If you’ve forgotten your username or password, visit our
Username and Password Help page to retrieve your username or generate a new password. We will send an email to the address on file. If you don’t receive the email from
stat@pamedsoc.org, check your spam folder.
4. Do I have to be a member to start a user account?
No, non-members can start a user account, particularly if you want to use our
online store. However, non-members with user accounts will not have access to member-only information on the website.
5. Is my information private and secure?
The Pennsylvania Medical Society is dedicated to protecting your privacy and security as a visitor to our website. Please refer to our
Security FAQ for more information.
6. What is my Member Profile and how do I update it?
Your
Member Profile is attached to the Pennsylvania Medical Society's internal database. You can change or add information about your practice, such as your hours, insurances you accept, practice locations, and so on.
7. How can my office staff get access to your website?
Your office manager can
become a member (Requires Adobe Acrobat Reader) of the Pennsylvania Medical Society and start his or her own user profile. That’s the best way for your staff to get access.
However, some members choose to give their usernames and passwords to their office staff. We do not recommend this for security reasons. For example, the staff person could change vital information on the member’s profile or in CME Tracker.
8. I can’t find what I’m looking for … any suggestions?
If you can’t find a web story using our menus and navigation, the next best way is through our
search function.
Keep your search simple using one or two words rather than a phrase or sentence. Once you have tried a basic search, you can refine your search using advanced search or keyword search option. Many users will find the keyword search particularly easy to use.
If you still can’t find what you’re looking for, contact us at
stat@pamedsoc.org.
9. How can I find out if there is new content?
With
MyPAMEDSOC, you can sign up to receive a weekly email of new content that interests you. Just visit
www.pamedsoc.org/mypamedsoc to select topics that interest you and sign up for the email.
You also can sign up for an RSS feed, which will notify you immediately when new content is posted. Visit the
RSS page for instructions.
10. I don’t see my county society or specialty society listed. What’s up?
We offer web pages and
links to county medical societies upon request. If you don’t see your county listed, ask your county executive or an officer to contact us. We only list links to
specialty societies that are staffed by our Association Management Services department.
11. May I link to your website off of my website?
We encourage other websites to link to ours but we appreciate being asked and informed. So, if you want to link to our website, just email
stat@pamedsoc.org and we’ll reply as quickly as we can.
12. May I copy and use information off of your website?
Our website is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws of the United States and other countries. Any unauthorized use of materials on this website may violate such laws. If you would like to use content off the website, you must ask permission by email at
