Objectives

Physicians participating in this activity should be able to:

Article 1: Airway Fires During Surgery

  • Identify the mechanisms of surgical airway fires
  • Understand risk reduction strategies for preventing surgical airway fires
  • Describe the processes of fighting surgical airway fires

Article 2: Safety in Using Promethazine (Phenergan)

  • Identify the risks in using parenteral promethazine
  • Explain the importance of safe practice when using parenteral promethazine
  • Identify a local reaction to parenteral promethazine

Article 3: Contrast-Induced Nephropathy: Can This Iatrogenic Complication of Iodinated Contrast Be Prevented?

  • Identify symptoms of CIN
  • Identify factors that can increase the risk of CIN
  • Describe strategies that can be used to reduce the risk of CIN
