State of Medicine 2007

At no time in the past 10 years has a serious discussion of the health care work force—its composition, supply, and access—been more germane to the national debate on health care reform.

The Pennsylvania Medical Society’s "State of Medicine in Pennsylvania," 2007 edition, offers data and analysis on critical factors affecting the health care work force and marketplace.

Few states have a more urgent need to address health care reform than Pennsylvania.

Gov. Ed Rendell’s 2007 introduction of a series of sweeping health care reform initiatives, under the Prescription for Pennsylvania proposal, has sparked intense, and oftentimes heated, debate of health care policy issues in the commonwealth. Crafting comprehensive, effective policy responses to those issues requires deep understanding of health care demand, manpower, payment, work load, medical liability, and other factors.

"State of Medicine in Pennsylvania," 2007 edition, includes data and information that will help citizens, legislators, regulators, and the executive branch make wise and informed decisions that will impact the commonwealth for years to come.
