State Offers Free Breast, Cervical Cancer Screenings

Uninsured and underinsured women may be eligible for free breast and cervical cancer screenings through the Pennsylvania Department of Health’s HealthyWoman program. 

The program offers free mammograms, clinical breast exams, pelvic exams and Pap tests, education on breast self-exams, and follow-up diagnostic care for abnormal results to women who: 

  • Are 40 to 64 years old (or those younger than 40 who are symptomatic of breast cancer, had an abnormal Pap test, or have not been screened for cervical cancer in the past five years)
  • Have no insurance or limited insurance that does not cover breast and cervical cancer screenings
  • Have a low to moderate income
