PA REACH has announced its first wave of electronic health records (EHR) systems approved for group purchasing through Pennsylvania’s HIT regional extension centers.
Eligible primary care practices that register for EHR implementation assistance from the program may save money through group purchasing of their EHR.
PA REACH East and PA REACH West are Regional Extension Centers funded through a cooperative agreement with the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology. They are charged with offering unbiased advice and assistance to primary care providers.
The list includes vendors appropriate for small, independent primary practices who will offer volume discounts to providers seeking technical assistance from PA REACH. (This is not a preferred vendor list and does not reflect negatively on other vendors.)
The vendors approved for group purchasing include:
| Vendor | Product |
| eClinicalWorks | eClinicalWorks8.0.48 |
| Sage | Sage Intergy Meaningful Use Edition |
| Greenway Medical Technologies | PrimeSuite 2011 |
Additional vendors may be added in the near future.
Whether a provider chooses a vendor on the PA REACH list or another certified one, PA REACH is available to help providers select, implement, and fully utilize an EHR system. PA REACH recognizes that there are many other EHR products available that are certified for meaningful use or for which certification is being sought.
The Pennsylvania Medical Society is working in cooperation with Quality Insights of Pennsylvania in developing the PA REACH project.
