About the Practices

Converge is based on two fictional practices owned by Valley Medical Group: Riverside Gastroenterology and Warrington Family Practice.

Riverside Gastroenterology

Riverside Gastroenterology is a busy, profitable, two-physician practice that is undergoing a few changes.

Longtime solo practitioner and owner Michael McCready, MD, sold the practice to Valley Medical Group, who brought in a practice manager, Pam Baumgartner, and a young physician, Anish Goday, MD. Dr. McCready recently announced that he is leaving the practice and moving to Florida.

Warrington Family Practice

Warrington Family Practice is Valley Medical's beta site for implementing the patient-centered medical home. Charlotte Sawyer, MD, is one of the founding partners in Warrington Family Practice and has been tagged to lead the medical home implementation. The other physicians in the practice are Alexa Mason, DO, and James Liu, MD. Scott Jackson, the practice administrator, and Anita Suarez, a physician assistant, round out the staff.

Valley Medical  Group Administration

Violet Owens, MD, MBA, an endocrinilogist by training, is the executive vice president of Valley Medical Group.  She started out in a large practice owned by a major health system but quickly found that she enjoyed the business side of medicine.

Stefan Mooreland, chief executive officer of Valley Medical Group, has been working for Valley Medical Group for a number of years. He’s largely responsible for the group’s growth and acquisitions.
